FIGA Claims Help

The good news is that Avatar was an Admitted Carrier in the State of Florida.  What does this mean to you?  It means that their policyholders have the protections afforded through FIGA if the company is to ever go out of business.  To put it simply, claims should still be paid per the policy, aside from a couple of FIGA limitations of which there are 3 that stand out. 

  1. FIGA will currently cover up to $300,000.00 per claim with an additional $200,000.00 available for structures and contents on homeowner’s claims.
  2. The claims filing deadline for Avatar Claims is March 14th of 2023.
  3. Requirement to file a Proof of Claims form.
