Looking for Insurance Estimates because your insurance company asked you to provide 3 estimates?
Be careful what you do upon your insurance company asking for 3 insurance estimates. Most homeowners and business owners simply call in 3 contractors, get 3 estimates and submit them to the insurance company in hopes of a quick and easy claim settlement. This does NOT benefit the insured and I am yet to see an insurance policy that states this a ‘duty after the loss’. If your estimates come in low, they may get paid but if they are higher than the insurance company wants to pay they will simply not pay it for one reason or another.
The truth is that Insurance Estimates are much different than the typical Estimate that you would receive from a contractor. The main difference is that contractors are typically not familiar with what is and is not covered in the policy and they will typically write an estimate that will repair damages but not always indemnify you as the insured.
