There have been numerous reports of St Lucie West plumbing problems over the past couple of years.

Recently, we assisted a homeowner in PGA Village with his insurance claim that arose from a pinhole leak in a copper line that was under the slab of the house. That claim was settled a couple of months ago however, I just came across an article By Alexi Howk on TCPalm.com titled ‘St. Lucie West to test pipes; more residents report leaks.‘ In his article he discusses the mystery of what is to blame for the corrosive looking pinhole leaks in copper lines.
On March 4th of 2011, I wrote a blog post titled ‘Slab Leaks and your Insurance Claim‘. In this post I discussed assisting many homeowners in Jupiter with the same problems. I am not a scientist, plumber or engineer, I am a Public Adjuster that assists homeowners when they have insurance claims to ensure that they are treated fairly by the insurance company. I know the damages that these leaks can cause however I can not begin to tell you how or why these losses occur. However, after reading the article about St Lucie West and knowing what I know about the situation in Jupiter, I do see one thing in common. Both water treatment facilities utilize “Reverse Osmosis”. I truly don’t know exactly what that means but I’ll bet it has something to do with what is going on in both areas.
The above mentioned claim in PGA Village was originally paid $11,000 before we were retained, we eventually closed the claim for $25,500, that more than 2x what the insurance company thought should be paid. These claims are not always as easy as one would hope or expect. Many times the damages are not that obvious or hidden, we will document all of the damages and fight to recover everything that is owed. Here is what this insured had to say about our services….
“After it became apparent that the carrier was not fully evaluating the extent of the claim, I enlisted Greg’s services. He was responsive, thorough and insightful. His work proved to be the difference in getting my claim successfully resolved. Anyone who is experiencing some difficulty with evaluation of their claim should seriously consider utilizing the services of Greg. You will not regret your decision!”
You do not have to sit back and let the insurance company and their adjusters dictate the outcome of your claim. If you do find yourself to be the unfortunate victim of this type of loss, please do not hesitate to call our office and request a free claim review.
